Our aim is to synthesize alkyl organosilanes by cross-coupling reactions and utilize them as alkyl synthons, again employing them in cross-coupling reactions.
During our studies, we developed new silylzinc reagents that are solid at room temperature and have an extended lifetime of up to years.
Employing our methodology, we successfully synthesized arysilanes, enantiopure silane, vinylsilane, tertiary and secondary alkoxysilanes, as well as vinylsilane.
We employed modern metallophotoredox (nickel and HAT) catalysis to activate inert C-H bonds in unactivated alkanes, such as cyclohexane or aldehyde hydrogens, for further functionalization.
